February 2017 fuel prices – petrol and diesel up again!

Well, turns out the fuel price hike rumour was fake after all – the price of RON 95 will not see a 15 sen hike for February 2017. Instead, it will go up by 20 sen. That’s right, confirmed fuel prices have been announced, and they’re even higher than expected.

For the month of February 2017, RON 95 will be priced at RM2.30 per litre (up 20 sen compared to January 2017), RON 97 at RM2.60 per litre (up 20 sen), diesel at RM2.15 per litre (up 10 sen) and Euro 5 diesel at RM2.25 per litre (up 10 sen).

Just to put it all into perspective, RON 95 was priced as low as RM1.70 per litre as recently as September 2016. That’s a massive 60 sen jump in just five months.

Well anyway, Happy Chinese New Year, everyone. - Paultan
